BIO
Crimson – The graceful flow, the spiritually gifted, the
women of passion, and the voices that reach the soul of the
human heart. In fact, no single expression or phrase can clearly
depict “Crimson”. For it’s been most expressed
like this, “There’s Just Something about
Them!”
Crimson
– the gospel group, is most known for performing songs
such as “Yes” - “Strength”
- “Freedom” & “Following
You”. They strive to use their gifts and creative
talents to sing songs that have a greater meaning. Songs that
demonstrate God’s love and His plan and purpose for the
ones who need to hear it most. The group is actively in the
studio working on their first project. To see Crimson live,

Crimson
– The Memphis – born family (Talesha Harris, Chondra
Pope, Tene Mitchell and Claudia Bradshaw) debuted their first
performance together in Batesville, MS, when they were asked
to provide the worship at a concert ”The World’s
Greatest Gospel Program” in July 2007. They have been
singing together ever since. While this was their first time
publically singing together, Crimson started singing individually
long ago.
The
sisters share a history together as young sisters gifted with
undiscovered talents. It was their parents who created an environment
for their talent to grow and be discovered. Their mother played
the role of music teacher and their father, the role of impromptu
D.J.
Their
mother (Claudia Bradshaw) would have them to repeat after her
beautiful melodic voice (kind of like Karen Clark Sheard did
publically, with her daughter Kierra Sheard). She taught them
her renditions of “When I Think of The Goodness of
Jesus” and “How Great Thou Art”.
The very first solo was at home, in front of an audience of
one– their mother. This would give them the courage to
sing leads and participate in choirs later on in high school.
Their
father filled their home with good boisterous tunes every morning
before the girls went to school. Their father would listen to
artists such as Andre Crouch, Tramaine Hawkins, Amy Grant, Lionel
Richie, James Cleveland, The Winans, Carman, Ohio Players, Commissioned,
Vanessa Bell-Armstrong, Luther Vandross, John P. Kee, and others.
Their parent’s favorite artists would later become the
foundation and stepping stone to Crimson’s musical styles.
As
teenagers, the sisters were very active in high school. Talesha
Harris was a member of the Trezevant High School Concert
Choir and she also auditioned for the West Tennessee Chorus
but she would later attend Fairley High School, were she would
learn more about performing soulful gospel music as she became
a member of the Fairley High School Gospel Choir. She got the
opportunity to travel to locations such as Orlando, FL, New
Orleans, LA, and Nashville, TN were they sang songs like “Break
Me” and “Jehovah Jireh”.
Chondra
Pope was also a member of the Trezevent High-School
Concert Choir were she granted the opportunity to perform operatic
solos and lead parts such as “Oh Holy Night”, “The
Impossible Dream” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone”
to name a few. She also competed in talent shows, and auditioned
for the “West Tennessee Chorus” several times and
was selected to perform in 1995.
Claudia
Bradshaw graduated from Westwood High School and took
part in the Westwood High School Choir were she participated
in the West Tennessee Chorus. At the same time she participated
in “The Way of the Cross Family Group”. They traveled
the United States singing Gospel melodies for more than ten
years. She continued to sing as a soloist and trained her family
vocally.
Tene
Mitchell (cousin of Talesha, Chondra and niece of Claudia)
has been singing since she was a little girl in church (age
two) and began singing in the choir when she was in fourth grade.
She was a member of the Fairley High School gospel choir were
she gained the opportunity to travel on tours across the United
States including Canada. She graduated from high school in 1999
with a full scholarship in choir to LeMoyne Owen College. She
sang faithfully with the LeMoyne Owen College Concert Choir.
Singing has always been a part of Tene’s life starting
with her mother and father who were heavily involved in music.
Her mother a minister of music and her father a singing preacher
exposed her to techniques that enhanced her experience in singing.
Crimson currently resides in Memphis, Tennessee.
